Public Info Day Poster

The MULTHEM Webinar on the 2nd of October 2024 from 15:30 to 17:00 CET provides an opportunity for members of the public, including researchers and those from the industry to find out more about the MULTHEM project. As a Horizon Europe funded project, MULTHEM aims to develop new metal-polymer multimaterials with the use of Additive Manufacturing to produce lightweight components with good thermal conductivity. Join us to know more about the project and applications for metal-polymer multimaterials. This will be held online via Teams and will be recorded. Please get in touch with us at info@multhem.eu.

Dra. Marta Álvarez Leal

European Project Manager and Lead Researcher of R&D&i projects in the Research and Programs Department of The Technology Centre of Metal-Mechanical and Transport, CETEMET. Her role focuses on the co-ordination of the MULTHEM project. She is also involved in the technical part, researching, performing and characterizing aluminium alloys processed with Robotic Friction Stir Welding (RFSW) and Additive Manufacturing (AM) technologies.

Dra. Julia Ureña

Researcher and Project Leader at the Technology Centre of Metal-mechanical and Transport (CETEMET). Her role is to coordinate and research in metal Additive Manufacturing, including characterizing and developing new metallic materials and multi-materials. For the MULTHEM project, Julia works as an expert researcher in metal Additive Manufacturing, where her role is mainly is related to the management and contribution to the development and processing of selected metal alloys by Laser Metal Deposition technology for the different use cases combining lightweight and improved thermal conductivity. She is also involved in characterizing the materials developed by Additive Manufacturing as well as by innovative joining techniques. She is also a part of the Project Coordinator team and is therefore involved in coordination and dissemination activities.

Tessa Ten Cate

Senior Scientist at Brightlands Materials Center, serving as the Program Manager for R&D activities in the field of thermoplastic composites, including additive manufacturing (3D printing) of polymers with continuous fiber reinforcements. She holds the role of Work Package leader for WP2, with a focus on material and production technologies, and also serves as the technical manager of the MULTHEM project. Tessa oversees the activities at Brightlands Materials Center within the MULTHEM project, including material selection, 3D printing process optimisation, material characterisation, 3D printing design support , and the production of test parts.

Aybike Yalcinyüz

Research associate in the joining and coating technology department at Fraunhofer Institute for Production Systems and Design Technology IPK in Berlin. She is a board member of the general assembly and the work package leader of “joining technologies” in the MULTHEM project. She develops and investigates joining concepts to manufacture multi-materials with innovative joining technologies such as laser and electron beam welding. She also calculates the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) for the environmental impact of the newly developed multi-material products by MULTHEM and compare them to products manufactured by conventional methods.

Jose Manuel Soler Vizan

The director of Airelectric, and his role has two main functions. The first is to ensure all the business-related activities are carried out as defined in the strategy. The second is to provide technical direction to the team to ensure the engineering activities are executed on time, on budget and within the requirements defined by the project. Within the MULTHEM project, he is the work-package leader for work-packages 6 (use case design) and 7 (use case validation).
